「小さな港町へと向かう、列車の窓から」

ケープタウンから喜望峰までの途中にある古い小さな町、サイモンズタウンまでは列車が走る。都市部から住宅圏を抜け、車内に僕らだけになったころ、列車は海岸線の絶景の中を走りだした。うっかりすると波しぶきがかかるほどに、海が近い。海岸の無人の駅をいくつか越えて、やがて電車はサイモンズタウンに到着する。喜望峰まではあと少し。遠くの海では、クジラが野太い声をあげて泳いでいる。

To go to Simon's Town, a little old town between Cape Town and Cape of Good Hope, we can take a train. Passed through the metropolitan district and the residential area, we were just two of us left on the train looking out the beautiful ocean view along the coast. It was so close to the water that wave could almost reach us. After a couple of unstaffed stations, we arrived in Simon's Town. A little more to go till Cape of Good Hope. I heard a whale crying with deep voice far away in the ocean.
